The original Ritchey Logic Headset on my Pocket Rocket is worn out. I’d like to replace it with a good quality headset like a Chris King. Is there a production size that will fit my Bike Friday?
Yes, we can replace your headset. The frame type and production date of your Bike Friday will determine the size and kind of headset you need, so you’ll need to provide us with your bike’s frame number when you order.
Using the information we have on file on your bicycle, we will be able to determine whether your steerer is threaded or not, and what the diameter of your steerer is.
Once we have that information, we can set you up with whatever level of headset that you are interested in. Like most bicycle components, price is the trade-off for lightness and quality.
Most Bike Friday models use a standard 1-1/4″ headset; however, 1-1/8″ was used in the past. The Chris King brand headset is available, and has proven to be quite durable.
If you have a threadless steerer tube, we recommend that you upgrade to a threaded. It will make it much easier to find a headset for your bike.
