But we couldn't even imagine some of the exciting adventures Bike Friday owners have taken on their touring bikes. Your New World Tourist, Pocket Llama, Pocket Crusoe, Silk or Pocket Companion offer custom fit, strength, integrity, dependability and ingenious features to encourage you to dream big.
The geometry of Bike Friday’s touring frame is designed for comfort and reliable handling over long distance. The Cro-Moly steel frame means durability as well as the ability to find solutions to problems nearly anywhere.
We want you to think of Bike Friday as your personal Factory.
When you design a Bike Friday, you are creating the bicycle of your dreams. You can design a touring bike starting at $1198, but the sky is the limit.
The price of your Bike Friday primarily will be determined by the level of components you choose for your bike. Our Select Group offers a solid choice of components that would bring your Bike Friday price around the $1998-2298 range.
If you prefer to upgrade your components, you can easily customize your Bike Friday to fit any budget.
We also offer touring bicycles in Petite sizes.

So much that we came up with a new frame design to make it available on our 20-inch bikes.
The Silk with the Select Group shows off the versatility. Set it up for some road riding, touring or commuting. Your choice!
You get low maintenance on your drivetrain when you combine the Gates Carbon Belt Drive with a Shimano Alfine 8 Internal Hub. The Avid disc brakes give you power to stop under any conditions.

Our 20th Anniversary New World Tourist paid tribute to our roots in building high performance touring bicycles and our commitment to remain a Made in USA company. We offered a limited edition of 20 of those bikes.
We equipped it with as many products Made in the USA as we could possibly find, honoring those other small bicycle companies, like us, who are devoted to staying in America.
The 20th Anniversary Bike Friday gave birth to the New World Tourist Americano.
It offers more Made USA goodies than you'll find at most Handmade Bicycle Shows, and it packs for great fun and adventure.
Essentially, the Americano is our 20th Anniversary bike without the special paint offered only to the limited 20 original models, wooden fenders and panniers.

The Crusoe frame is built with lighter gauge tubing, for a quicker, sportier ride. It is for riders less than 190 pounds (86kg). It is also available in a petite version for folks less than 130 pounds (59kg).

The New World Tourist can tackle any challenge you throw its way, from multiday touring to daily commuting to simple Sunday afternoon riding.
One of the ways to build a Custom New World Tourist is to add the NuVinci 360 continuously variable transmission (CVT), so you will always find the perfect gear for any situation.
The NuVinci will give you a gear range from 26.5 to 95.5 inches with a 20-tooth cog and 53-tooth ring. Since you are custom designing the New World Tourist, your options are wide.

The Pocket Companion is built for travel, daily utility, recreational riding and exercise. It is based on the NWT with a simpler slighlty less expensive bike in mind..
The Companion with the Select Group is available in your choice of three top tube lengths (52 cm, 56 cm, 60 cm) to fit individuals from about 4-foot-6 to 6-foot-4 (1.3m to 1.9m).
It comes in 3 frame colors (Red, Blue, & Black) along with black cable housing and black or White decals.
It has a Select parts group optimized for best value in entry level but quality equipment, for ride, durability and function. Best value group for a Bike Friday with high expectations of bicycle working well, simplicity, & at best price.
We also build a lot of Full Custom New World Tourists. A very popular model as Full Custom New World Tourists come in literaly hundreds of sizes, including heavy rider upgrades. Plus you have thousands of potential parts choices, if you want. (sounds complicated but our free consultations take the sting out and give you something really special and as unique as you are.) Way to go if Companion is not enough size choice, equipment choice or color choices.
