The numerous calls about how our tandems fold and pack made us realize that this information has been missing from the web. Here is a quick guide to what our tandems look like folded and packed. Note that the Tandem Two'sDay is our only folding tandem.

There are two kinds of Bike Friday Tandem, FOLDING and TRAVELER (non-folding).

FOLDING:

Two'sDay perfect for car touring or when you will be folding and unfolding the bike regularly

TRAVELER (disassemble):

Family Tandem "the most affordable tandem worth riding that money can buy"

Traveler XL light touring tandem

Traveler Q the tandem that becomes a single bike

Triple Traveler for 3 riders. Also converts to a standard Family Tandem

Twin Air signature model, personally handcrafted by Hanz Scholz, now available as a more affordable Production version as of June 2003.

Whether they fold or disassemble, all tandems pack into one or two suitcases depending on the configuration.

The tandems are all available in road, mountain or touring configuations - that is, different tires, gearing and braking systems depending on what you want to use the bike for.

Which leads you to an utterly bewildering array of choices... which is all made terribly easy by simply talking to a Bike Friday sales consultant who will quickly home in on a model to suit your needs.

"I think we should rename the bike "the Dr Seuss bike" - big, yellow, pink and fun. Sounds about right. My favorite comment from yesterday was.....look it's a tricycle....no a tribike.... From a kid at a baseball game. Hilarious! - Sarah Gates Family, Salem, Oregon, Triple Traveler
