WHY CONSIDER A PRE-OWNED FRIDAY?

* You don't have to wait 6 weeks for a new one - typically you can have it in 2-3 weeks from the time you order it, especially in fall and winter. You can get aquainted with it sooner for that spring trip.

Service with a smile: Tim Link specializes in reconditioning Bike Friday pre-owned bikes.

* Pre-owned Bike Fridays are completely reconditioned - new cables, bearings re-packed, tuning and if necessary, re-painting. In special circumstances you can upgrade some parts at additional cost. Call to discuss.

* The fit is guaranteed. We'll make sure the frame you choose is correct for your size. A new stem is built if necessary for perfect fit.

* Pre-owned Bike Fridays purchased from our factory have the same lifetime frame warranty as a new Bike Friday. You can buy used Bike Fridays off Ebay, but they will not come with the same warranty that we offer.

* You save at least 20% on an equivalent new Bike Friday. On a $1500 new purchase, that's a $300 saving.

But you better be quick ...

* Typically, Pre-Owned Bike Fridays barely reach our inventory before someone surfing the Pre-Owned Bike Friday list late at night, spots a great deal and calls up to reserve it.

CASE STUDY: What Does Seth Brandes Do on a Pre-Owned Friday?

Seth Brandes

Seth Brandes does Oregon and Colorado on his pre-owned Air Friday.

SETH BRANDES recently bought a pre-owned Air Friday and has sent us this bulletin:

Every day I got to cycle for an hour or two in the morning or afternoon on my new Bike Friday. This great little bike rides and feels just like a high end full sized road bike. But it comes apart and folds up into a standard Samsonite suitcase in 20-30 minutes time. It's fantastic for summer cycling on the road.

These few pictures represent a cross spectrum of rides that I rode this week. The start day was Monday in Colorado Springs. I rode up to the "Garden of the Gods" park in the foothills of the Colorado Rockies. The elevation is over +6,000 feet above sea level.

The next few days I got to ride along Denver's rivers and then up Boulder Canyon into Roosevelt Forest in the Rockies. Thursday, I traveled to Portland, OR where I rode along the Willamette River just before sundown. Yesterday I finished off the week near Scio, Oregon, riding through 4 covered bridges and Richardson Gap across beautiful terrain in western Oregon. At the end of the week, I had covered over 160 miles breaking in my new little bike. The little bike is now back at its place of origin - with the Bike Friday folks in Eugene, getting some final adjustments before I take it out again. Their customer service is legendary. Some of the ways the most popular Bike Friday, the New World Tourist, has been upgraded for 2005

CASE STUDY: Why did Dan Kaljian Trade Up his Friday?

Dan Kalijan

Dan Kaljian, bicycle aficionado and Bike Friday owner since 1995, traded his trusty red New World Tourist for a Pocket Rocket Pro, "after I was being passed by young girls wearing flipflops riding clunky fat tired mountain bikes." He then spotted the comfy Ti beam of the Air Friday, traded in his Pro and now has "The best bicycle I have ever owned." That's quite a statement from a serious bicycle person such as Dan, who owns seven bikes. "Bike Friday is an extraordinary company, I feel like one of the family every time I call up." Ride with Dan and other members of the Bike Friday Club of San Francisco.

YES, YOU CAN ALWAYS SELL IT YOURSELF

Of course there's nothing stopping you from selling your Friday independently and getting more cash to put towards your new one. Glen N wrote on the YAK!: "I have already sold my New World Tourist, put a small sign on my bike and sold it within 3 days! Another indication of how great Bike Fridays are! Anxiously awaiting my brand new NWT which will be arriving in mid-Sept."

There are many people on The YAK! who are looking to buy or looking to sell. We don't mind how you get your Friday, as long as you're riding one.
