PERU: 16,000 Feet on a Friday: Assault on the World's Highest Paved Road

In 2004, a small group of cyclists aged 42-69 rode the inaugural PACTOUR 'Assault on the World's Highest Paved Road' expedition led by 6x RAAM champ and Air Friday owner Lon Haldeman. Coined 16,000 Feet on a Friday after the Galfromdownunder's 45-minute DVD epic of the trip, this superbly organized expedition - dramatic scenery and climate zones, rich Peruvian culture and challenging yet enjoyable cycling - is open annually for moderately fit cyclists to join.
