STEP 1... WHEN DO YOU NEED IT?
When you place your order, we will give you a promise date that will enable the bike to arrive on your doorstep when you actually need it. We recommend you order with enough time to spend a few days getting acquainted with your new Bike Friday. The usual turnaround time varies greatly due to the season, product availability and other variables. For most customers, we will deliver your custom Bike Friday in about 5-9 weeks. Stock Models and Pre-owned bikes generally have much shorter lead times.
Expedited production spots are available if sooner delivery is required (fees apply). Please call us today to find out what the current delivery schedule is. If your trip is coming up soon, don't wait another day!
STEP 2... WHAT DO YOU WANT THE BIKE TO DO FOR YOU?
Where do you want to go with it? What type of riding do you want to do? Your answers to these questions will determine what Bike Friday model works best for you. To see the model selection yourself click here for Bike Chooser page.
STEP 3... WHAT INVESTMENT ARE YOU COMFORTABLE WITH?
This will be important for us to know when you start choosing your bike configuration (step 4) and accessories (step 5).
STEP 4... SIZING
All models, except Stock models, are custom built to fit the individual rider. Download our sizing form for full instructions. And, be sure to enter actual numbers without rounding. Guys, 213 pounds isn't 200 and inseam isn't your pant inseam - so don't round or look down, just measure and weigh, and write it down. Keep in mind, we build to order :o)
STEP 5... CHOOSE A BIKE CONFIGURATION
Bike Friday manufactures Stock Bikes (singles and tandems), and Custom Single, Tandem and Triple Tandem bicycles. Click here to read about the differences in models types and uses. Each Bike Friday model has many configurations for different levels of componentry. This includes various handlebar, stem, shifter, brake and gearing options. STEP 6... CHOOSE YOUR ACCESSORIES
All models, except stock models, are specified without saddle and pedals. You can choose from our selection or supply your own. Typical accessories to add to your order include saddle, pedals, TravelCase and TravelTrailer, fenders, racks, TravelBag, suspension seat post and so on. And, we always think it's a good idea to have spare tubes, tools for tire repair, lights, mirrors and bells. So, we carry those items too. Also, each Custom Built Bike Friday comes with a brass nameplate that is mounted on the mainframe. Let us know what name you want to appear on the bike's nameplate. It can be your name, a nickname, or even the name you'd like your new steed to have for its own. Have fun with it!
STEP 7... CHOOSE A COLOR
Bike Friday offers 18 terrific colors to choose from. We use powdercoat to paint our bikes. Powdercoat means less waste and longer lasting paint to protect your bike!

Bike Friday powdercoat colors are available in solid, metallic and custom 2-tone colors.
Touch up paint is also available for a nominal charge.
Tandem paint Upgrades carry an additional charge.
STEP 8... SHIPPING ADDRESS

STEP 9... PAYMENT
Because your bike is custom-built to order, we take full payment up front, by credit card, check, wire transfer, or cash.

If you would like to use our Red Apron Delivery Service, which offers a skilled Bike Friday Service Professional walking you through the packing and unpacking of your bike, please discuss this with your Travel Consultant ahead of time so we can schedule the day and time. The charge is $40/hour. Most Pocket Bikes take about an hour the first time, Air bikes and Tandems can take longer.
