The Bike Friday tikitTM has just achieved its first century ... and on 16" wheels! OK, forgive our creative license. Let's just say we're delighted to announce that tikitTm number 100 has just popped out of the 'tikit booth', thanks to our crack tikitTM production team. Since launching the model in February, Bike Friday has been inundated with orders from local and international dealers, the initial recipients of the model. Co-designers Hanz Scholz and Rob English started as a two-man production team hand-building each tikitTM, but have now ramped up to 8 pairs of skilled hands and new equipment to cope with the orders. Starting May 21, the size SMALL tikitTM is now being built alongside the medium and large sizes. A second powdercoat booth has been added, dedicated just to the tikitTM, and wheel building machine. The team is producing 3 tikits per day which are dispatched to all four corners of the globe, mainly dealers, but we can't make enough. Like to join the Bike Friday team? We're seeking the mechanically inclined to help us achieve our mission. Go to www.bikefriday.com/employment and download the application. You could find yourself working with us alongside some very interesting and influential characters in the cycling world ... |
