Wireless Computers and the Bike Friday

I think I'm going to have a problem with the new Cateye Cyclocomputer I just mounted on my wife's new NWT. The pickup and sender is attached to the fork and the display unit is on the handlebar (duh!) but it is not working. Ok, ok, I've checked and troubleshot the set up and all looks ok (I have this same model on my big wheel bike and it works just fine). I think the sender is a bit too far away from the display unit. So I'm wondering if all you excellent, experienced Bike Friday owners have had similar problems.
