Many original metaphors
I just finished your book yesterday. I found the book very enjoyable. You really have a good eye for people, and a gift for language. There were many original metaphors that made the narrative come to life for me. I hope you will continue writing and I look forward to your next book.
Lines I enjoyed
· Mosquito fall (51)
· Mosquitos so glad to see us that they drive us back to our car (58)
· Fearful people have the knack of planting the most fertile seeds of doubt (75)
· Hits his or her head on the low ceiling of communism (88)
· Carp in a car
dealership (90)
· Tabernacle of tourism (90)
· Lizard's gizzard (114)
· Danilo . . . makes an hourglass shape with his hands, which either means his hour is up or someone that shape is awaiting his return. (160)
· Is it the pauses, not the parties, that create friendship? (170)
· Members of the family swan in and out of the room (202)
I wish I had noted the many metaphors that I liked ...
