2004 Rides
What a weekend - farm and timber scenery, a relaxed pace, lots of gregarious people, plentiful food, wild and domestic animals. The Sutherlin rides rural routes were well chosen by Leigh and Charlie. Low traffic, good views, rolling (but generally not steep) hills. Anyone who likes to get on a bike can enjoy these rides.
A special treat was the "open bar" eating arrangments. Everyone got the food they wanted, but at rural (read: cheap) prices. Fifty cent coffee, filling sandwiches for under $5, real ice cream malted shakes delivered in the mixing canister, "single" ice cream scoops that towered out of the cone (and good ice cream too, locally made as an added bonus), fresh from the oven scones ... I could go on, but I'm getting hungry again.
The rides included frequent stops to keep the group together and point out local treasures.
We'll be back.
