Visitors Welcome; Thanks Lynette, Travel Companion

First, Lynette, thanks for putting together this new forum! I've often thought such would be good and that I'd use it.

I live in the beautiful Methow Valley of north central Washington State (town of Twisp, 200 miles NE of Seattle): mountains, lakes and rivers; great outdoor recreation of all sorts, including road (both paved and dirt) and single track riding; also good restaurants, music (I'm most inclined toward jazz and classical), plays, etc. I will welcome BF visitors whenever I'm around . . . and with prior communication, perhaps could make them welcome even if I happen to be away.

At the moment I'm not looking for a new romance, and I'm too busy with projects to go traveling. But I won't be suprised if I'm seeking a travel partner via this forum in the future.

I ride a Pocket Llama with drop bars, set up for road riding and have an old mountain bike so I don't have to change tires every time I take a ride on the dirt. Also have a Feathercraft K-lite folding kayak and a variety of skiis as I enjoy the water and snow as well as land.

If it matters, I'm 55 and semi-retired in the sense that I don't have a job. On the other hand, most of my life I've been self-employed and figure I've worked less than 1/2 of full time equivalent overall. I'm not sure there is all that much difference now - except that I no longer have dependents, have income from rental property, and approach some things a bit differently than I have in the past.

I guess that's enough for now. I welcome communication and visits.

Scot

I'm a little amazed! My cousins live in Twisp, and it's amazing to me to find your posting on the BF site. If you see Laura Fine or her husband Bruce (the phenomenal wood-worker) tell them about this coincidence.
Happy riding.

Scott, we're intrigued by the statement: "I approach things differently than I have in the past..."

In reply to Lynette's comment, the differences in how I approach things is far too large a subject to adequately address in a brief message. How 'bout a few hours over a beer sometime?

The process is that I keep learning from my experiences in life and my approach to things changes as a result and leads to new and different experiences which leads to . . . Continuous change! The increased freedom that comes from semi-retirement seems to increase the variety of experiences (and/or their intensity) and the rate of change in approach. This may be leading to greater understanding of what is important to me which, hopefully, in time, may result in seeking and finding that which is most satisfying to me and, perhaps, more stability in approach
