Removing Stubborn Stem Riser

For all those who have a stem riser that can't easily be removed after opening the quick release (mine was impossible), here is a quick and easy solution.

I have read that this problem is caused by the clamp sticking on the threads. Just carry a screw (or you can ditch the QR for the screw like I did) and insert it on the threaded side of the bracket. Slide a coin in the space and as the screw begins to press the coin against the other side of the bracket (only a small amount of pressure is needed), it creates the slightest spreading effect and the stem riser slides right out.

You can leave the screw and coin the way they are for quick reassembly when it is time to ride again.

The customer Service Guys tell me that all you need to do is file the threaded part slightly with a flat file - just gentle strokes right across where the split is. Try it!
