The Inaugural BFCA Portland Ride...
Sometime in June, 2001, we received this email from a lady called Stacey Gray: "Thank you for the video and info! As I was walking my dog this morning, I saw a woman on an Air Friday, so I shouted, "How do you like your Bike Friday?". She shouted, "I love it!". But she was going too fast to stop and talk to me. Hmm. So I have to unload a Cannondale before I can buy the Friday. I will start this weekend with advertising. I have, however, made up my mind to get the World Tourist even if I have to send you $100 a month until I can get it!"
A week later, Stacey told us she'd sold her Cannondale and was now ready to join the fold.
"I love organizing the rides, meeting other riders and helping folks out with Portland. Hope you are out enjoying the weather! I rode about 15 miles through Portland and Milwaukee today! Email me with any ride ideas and let's ride!"
MICHAEL RASMUSSEN became a born again cyclist after purchasing his BF in 2002. He'll use any excuse to go for a ride as he has his sights set on doing the Paris-Brest-Paris one day. Read The Monthaversary of Michael Rasmussen.

JEFF BERNARDS, well known to the Portland biking scene for his work in bicycle advocacy, was Volunteer of the Year for CCC (Community Cycling Center), principal seminar coordinator for Car Free Day (what a wonderful concept) and is an active organizer for local biking club Shift2Bikes.org - which has achieved such coups as getting $6K worth of bicycle lights that Jeff distributes to cyclists who do not have one. He uses his New World Tourist for traveling to some of the more remote places in the world, including Costa Rica in December 2003. Jeff also runs an inexpensive Introduction to Cycle Camping 2-3 day weekend - car-free in July. Check the Shift2Bikes site for details. Contact Jeff by email on ytamer at aol dot com.
