Suspension seatpost options
Old ID
Symptoms
I'm looking for a suspension seatpost for my Bike Friday. What do you recommend? What diameter post do I need?
Causes
Bike Friday offers two widths of seatposts; 28.6mm and 27.0mm. You can look on the back of your current seatpost to determine which size you have now.
Here is a quick guide:
28.6mm
New World Tourist
Pocket Llama
Pocket Rocket
all Bike Friday tandems
27.0mm
Pocket Rocket Pro
AirFriday
AirGlide
Air Llama
Solutions
Currently, we only offer suspension seatpost for masts that accept 28.6mm diameter seatposts. We have two options available. The Cane Creek Thudbuster brand is designed for riders with shorter inseams, because the length of the post can be cut down. The Tamer Post Centrik brand looks more like a normal seatpost, but its length cannot be altered.
You may want to consider upgrading to the Air bike series (AirFriday, AirGlide, AirLlama), which uses a titanium boom for rear suspension. See bikefriday.com's AirFriday page for more information.
Your best bet is to contact our sales team, and let them help you determine which one is right for you.

No where on your site (that I could find) does it tell me that you DO or DO NOT sell the suspension seat post you outline in your Q&A text. I inquired to buy a seat post, but don't seem to be able to buy from YOU. Am I just "web site challenged?" Let me know. TNX

Rick Gould (rick.gould@prometheus.force9.co.uk) adds:
I did not have that problem when buying my Pocket Llama. On the web site, it states that upgrades are available for seat-posts, there were pictures of the Cane Creek Thudbuster and this was clearly available as an upgrade. All it took was one phone call and my Llama came with a suspension seat-post. Indeed, I had not even heard of the Thudbuster until I had discovered Bike Friday. Or maybe things have improved on the site?
