I have a 2-year-old daughter and wonder if a Bike Friday can be fitted with a rear child seat. I don't have room in my apartment for a trailer, hence the reason for looking into a space-saving alternative bike.

We have a few customers who have mounted child seats to their Bike Friday travel bikes. It is possible, however, this is not the safest method of transporting a child on a bike. Trailers, such as those made by Burley Design Co-Op are much safer. The dangers of the rear-mounted child seat are somewhat amplified on Bike Fridays as the small wheels put the center of gravity a bit lower than on a 26-inch wheel bike.
The Bike Friday Family Tandem Traveler is an excellent family cycling alternative for children of 36 inches or taller.

Yes, but with twins on the way, our 2-1/2-year-old daughter will have to be evicted from the Burley, to a child seat. It may be some time before she achieves 36"! Any alternative ideas?
