[Title:] Bring your own bicycle when you go traveling!

Enno Roosink, at Amsterdam Airport: "I have worked here for many years, and so I had to travel a great deal. This is also the place where I got the idea of buying a travel bike."

Enno: "Well, here it is. This is the big surprise!
As it is rather cold today, I'll start by putting on my cycling shirt.
This is the ultimate folding bike, something that I have been looking for for years, as a matter of fact. As you can see, the bike fits in the suitcase, and I take it with me everywhere I go. Or, as they say in America, 'Never travel without your bicycle'."

"In winter, when everybody here in Holland is ice-skating, I prefer to go cycling in warmer parts of the world. To that end, you have to pack your traditional racing bike in a big cardboard box, and hand it over to the airline company. Airline companies are not too fond of these outsize boxes, because they don't really fit their luggage handling system."
"So, my logical conclusion was to go looking for a bike that would fit in a suitcase. I couldn't find one in The Netherlands, but, in an American magazine, I chanced upon an article about the Bike Friday travel bike.
It is custom-fit. I had to pay in advance. Four weeks later a big box was delivered to my doorstep. I opened the suitcase, and, when I saw the do-it-yourself kit, I thought it must surely be the worst bargain of the century! Well, of course that appeared not to be the case, because once I had put the bicycle together, my position was exactly the same as on my Dutch racing bike. And it performed just as good, too!"

"Head wind. Worse than climbing L'Alpe d'Huez! Off we go!"
