One of the most spectacular rides in Oregon is Highway 242 over the McKenzie Pass.

In late spring, the DOT plows one lane through the massive snow accumulated during the winter when it is closed. From that point until the snow has melted to allow for the highway to be open, cyclists and hikers are allowed to use the highway for access to the McKenzie Pass.
