The picture was taken on August 30 of 2007, as my friend Edward Frehen and I (Jaap Bos, Pocket Llama) cycled from Girona (Spain) to Toulouse (France), and back.

The day the picture was taken started beautifully, as we left Spain and cycled into Andorra.

All was fine, until we started the climb to Pas de La Casa, the border town that leads to the pass that connects Andorra to Spain. As we climbed up, the clouds seemed to try to meet us halfway.

Edward, who is by far the better climber, disappeared into the clouds, even when/if he was only 60 feet ahead (let alone later, when he pushed on).

Standing at the top was quite a thrill though, and definitely worth the effort. During the 20 kilometers downhill to our camping site, we actually had to stop to let our hands warm up, so we could properly use the brakes :-)
