The first week of October 2009, Elaine and partner, Danny Sokolsky, landed in Avignon via the TGV. A weeklong sojourn in Provence was what the doctor ordered.

Supported by their trusty trailers they rumbled to a B&B in Mazan, just outside Carpentras, their base for the week. Each day they rode Pocket Rocket Pros on a different beautiful route: Mont Ventoux (lunch in Bedouin), the Gorges de la Nesque (lunch in Monieux), a loop to the Luberon (lunch in Gordes), the Dentelles de Montmirail (lunch in Gigondas), and more.

The weather could not have been more perfect -- clear, warm, and dry. They were not the only BFs on the beautiful roads of the Vaucluse, not by far.

They met no fewer than 3 other BF couples: in Avignon, in Fontaine de Vaucluse, and at the top on Mont Ventoux. The French are very taken with "les petits velos"!
