OCTOBER 21-31, 2014: Temples, Gardens & Floating Islands of Japan

Explore ancient Kyoto’s World Heritage temples, shrines and gardens on two wheels, take the bullet train to Hiroshima, and cycle the premier Inland Sea Island route. Fall is an ideal time to visit Japan. We'll explore old and new, urban and rural settings, citrus farms and fishing villages on the Inland Sea, crossing spectacular bridges linking balmy islands. Enjoy the sights of Kyoto and Nara, visit Hiroshima's Peace Park and Miyajima island, take your bike on the bullet train and ferry, stay in traditional inns and soak in hot spring baths. See photos from the 2013 tour.  https://picasaweb.google.com/cyclejapan/Japan13

The focus of the tour is on enjoying the sights and sounds of Japan with time to take pictures and meet local people. Cycling distances 20-60 miles at a moderate pace, rolling terrain, with some short, steep hills. Carry only what's needed for the day, as luggage is shipped to the next hotel. Tour begins and ends in Kyoto, about 300 miles west of Tokyo. For details and a reservation form email: info@japancycletour.com
