WA - Tacoma Chapter

Max says: I'm a reformed ultrarunner; I burned out last summer and after a couple of months of vegging went for a ride with a local cycling club. I was instantly hooked. Have logged nearly 3,000 miles in the last 6 months and just don't want to be without my bike. Since I like to travel, that meant a folding bike, and after some research, that meant a Bike Friday!
I've started a BF Club here - no dues, no meetings, just occassional little wheel rides. Future rides will be announced on the Message Board. So assuming you would be interested in joining us for some rides, it would be a convenient way for you to be kept in the loop.
For the summer, I'm planning Wednesday evening rides from Tacoma to Steilacoom for the free outdoor concert series. We'd meet at 5:30 at TCC, bring a picnic dinner, and get back before dark.
It's about 12 miles each way and we may be joined by some big wheelers (as well as little wheelers) from the Tacoma Wheelmen. The first concert is on June 29 and they continue through Aug 24 with everything from military bands to swing, country rock, jazz and steel drums.
TYPICAL RIDE: Meet at Round Table Pizza on Pearl and North 26th in Tacoma at 5:30 PM. Ride to scenic Point Defiance Park, do a couple of loops, then go back for pizza. Thereafter, monthly rides to various locations. Join me!
