The Folding Society via the web nowadays, but we're still quite active. If you ever want to contribute articles, or news, it would be very welcome. The Newt (my New World Tourist) is now just over 11 years old - the frame and swan-neck stem are original (though frame has been modified to use V-brakes), but everything else has been changed. It's now the bike on which I have done more miles than any other bike bar one, and I've had and have rather a lot of bikes, which limits miles on any of them. I know FS member Ray Racy (87-ish) really loves his Pocket Rocket Pro! David and Jane Henshaw I keep in touch with via their A to B magazine.
If you ever plan to come this country, do drop us a line: there are three regular rides each month for folders - the Origami ride (Midlands-ish), Swindon Smallwheels, and a Bristol Ride. For reasons of travel, I usually do the Origami ride. The Bristol could fit in with a visit to BF's UK dealer, Avon Valley Cyclery. We have twice had Origami-related rides which started at AVC (including testing bikes), then used part of the Bristol-Bath cycle track, and returned to Bath, or, for those who wanted to make train connections, Bristol.
Hanz Scholz came to Cyclefest in Lancaster a few years ago. Sadly Cyclefest is no more, but there is a much more informal event called Cyclefeast at Berwick on Tweed (almost, but not quite, in Scotland). I think it will be back in 2008. It's very much along the lines of Cyclefest - an alternative cycle event, with lots of recumbents and folders, and very few conventional bikes. The Folding Society welcome you and your Friday anyday!
