TX - Houston Chapter

I presently own six bikes including an Bilenky with S&S couplers. I found that it was too much of a hassle to use it as intended. That lead me to Bike Friday. I love riding and meeting new people. I get bored easily and like to ride with other groups and in other places other than the regular club rides.

I decided to start to include my two daughters, Hayley & Sydney, and first bought the Bike Friday Triple Traveler to take them along. We get tons of attention and the smiles that people get on their faces, especially moms, when they see the triple is fantastic.

Our first real ride with my girls was the "Tour De Braz" on the Triple out of Alvin, Texas (Home of Nolan Ryan). It was fantastic - I ride a great deal on my own with other clubs and organized rides here in Texas. My dream has always been to involve my children in cycling so that they can share in my passion. I hope that they one day will be avid cyclists and look back fondly on their Dad who introduced them to the sport.

Bike Friday is the best choice for a tandem or triple bike when it comes to children. There's no high top tube to straddle so getting on the bike is easy for the children and once on the bike they don't sit so high off the ground like they would on bigger wheeled bikes. They learn to master their part of the team quickly. As for a sense of accomplishment, how many second grade girls can say to their classmates that they rode 30 miles on a bike the day before?

One of the best moments of the ride was the expressions on people's faces when we passed them. People loved to see Bike Friday triple with the kids aboard. Seeing their smiles makes me so happy!

I loved the Triple Traveler so much, I immediately bought an Air Friday after seeing how well a Bike Friday performs and rides. There are other Bike Friday owners in our club and around Houston, I intend to organize a monthly Bike Friday ride as part of the Space City Cycling Club that will be open to everyone in Houston.
