Michael, we have been meaning to review our new bike and this gave us the little push that we needed. Our tube size is 20 x 1.125-1.5PV-406. The label shows 18 x 1 3/8. We have presta valves. We received our beautiful, blue Tandem Q in late November, 2002. It is a terrific 30th anniversary present to ourselves. It came neatly packed in the two carlton cases. After watching the video, we were able to put it together without too much difficulty and just a little assistance in gear/cable adjustment from someone more mechanically inclined than we are. After the cold weather turned into Spring in the midwest, we were able to ride a couple shorter routes. In April, we ventured down to the SWTR in April in Tulsa and had a great time. Everything worked great! In fact, the captain reports that the SRAM dual drive 3 x 9 hub system shifts better than our "big wheel" tandem, and he loves the STI set-up. We opted for the Cane Creek Thudbuster suspension and the stoker doesn't even notice any bumps! We debated, then opted for the 406 wheels with Schwalbe City Marathon tires and are very pleased with that decision. We have enjoyed the tandem so much, we've not attempted to transform the Q into a single yet. Will report when we do. We loved working with a smaller company with such customer-oriented service. A real rarity these days. This high level of genuine interest was apparent throughout the sales process and now also in the follow-ups to make sure everything is right. By the way, the current tandem we are comparing the Q with is one we have loved to ride for the past 6 years. We consider the above a testimony to a great bike. With the added capability to travel easily with us, we look forward to many trips to come.

My wife and I recently completed a 3-week trip to Switzerland with our Project Q. The bike performed great amd we were always the center of attention when we stopped. We could easily dismantle the bike and hop a train to the top (i.e. Zermat) and then cycle downhill all the way to Lake Geneva.
Now that I'm home, I intend to also take the single on business trips. Instead of watching TV in the evenings, I'll be out seeing the countryside on single Project Q.
